Filmfeline TV: V

Indeed, the new series is being filmed as we speak and it looks promising. The 4400 creator Scott Peters produced with Jason Hall, Steve Pearlman and Jeffrey Bell, the series based on the SCI – FI miniseries created by Kenneth Johnson. It’s great that V is back, however, I will miss the original cast. Let’s be honest, Diana was a perfect classic bitch, Marc Singer did a great job and Julie and Taylor…everyone! I have a feeling that the video rentals of the original series will be up, but the network is smart and equally nice to place the eppys online for you. There are also a few listed on Internet Movie Datatbase. I too had to get my hands on V the Original miniseries and “V: The Final Battle” series as soon as I saw the trailer for the new V
No remake can ever measure up to it’s original, that is just a fact. I also must give kudos to the filmakers of the original series. They did a fabulous job and a very believable job, lacking today’s computer technology.
The premise of the new series? Basically, aliens are planning to take over the world as we know it. Nothing new, but I’ve been sensing little Obamination hints here and there, especially with the chip implant that almost sounds like RFID chip implant. I think the V writers are regular members of ATF
Also, the owls, pound of flesh, etc… – illuminati refrences? Hm…. Anyway, I enjoy the new series, I like the cast and Morena is filling those very tailored shoes very well.
The new series features a number of lookers: Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, Logan Huffman, Elizabeth Mitchell and Party of Five’s Scott Wolf returns to TV in the role of Chad Decker, a young liaison to the visitors. Joel Gretsch was the best thing about Steven Spielberg’s miniseries Taken. He also married Captain Kirk’s daughter so if you’re a die hard Sci Fi nerd like me, this man hot sugar! I was sure if Joel is in this, it will be worth watching. I’m very happy so far. If you missed any of this, click on the Vposter above to watch! Leave a comment here as well, okis? XO

Filmfeline TV: Flash Forward

can make a change for the better or for worse. I hope Flash forward is about where each bad move we make can lead. Preventing bad from happening. The cast is wonderful. I respect actors like Joseph Fiennes, who could have been making millions in films, but he chose to go back to the theatre.
Fiennes continues to chose quality over quantity. Thank God for trained actors who take a script and find a meaning before they say yes, choosing projects worth watching. Creators Brannon Braga and David S. Goyer are total pros. We’re talking Xmen, Star Trek, Jumper, Dark Night and one of my favorites written by Goyer – Dark City ( just the kind of film I would love to act in.) Flash Forward is art imitates life as life imitates art. Is the show preparing us for something? Electromagnetic pulse anyone? That would mean 1,2,3 blackout! America would turn into a third world country, right? Let’s hope not, okay? Let’s hope this is just a TV show and that it’s all SCI FI. So far it’s great. I am happy with what I’ve seen last week. I loved Lost, but after a while, they ‘lost’ me (npi) For now, Flash Forward looks promising. The mystery men who didn’t black out, who are walking around adjusting the world while caught video are interesting. Who could they be? I hope the show remains mysterious. Stay Sci Fi – please. Folks, if you missed the first and second part, they’re available on line. Check your local listing for next week’s TV episode and tune in! You will like this one, but honestly? I’m still waiting for V. I can’t wait!Filmfeline Review: Homecoming

I don’t know what nitwit decided this should be a made for TV film. There are films that make it into theatres or on
video no where near as good as this Lifetime pic. I totally liked Homecoming. Mischa Barton is just very likable. Clearly, I’m a fan. 90210’s Jessica Stroup (Elizabeth) joins Mischa (Shelby) alongside Ghost Rider’s Matt Long (Mike). I’m not a huge fan of the new Beverly Hills show, but in Homecoming Jessica Stroup proves she’s got real chops. She’s quite natural in this film, totally in character. I think I like her.
Director Morgan J. Freeman, not to be confused with the actor Morgan
Freeman brings us a small town tale written by Katie L. Fetting. Mike was a football star back home. Now a Northwestern college man, Mike is headed home for homecoming weekend and to see his family and friends. His new serious girlfriend, Elizabeth Mitchum, is invited to join him, but Mike’s former girlfriend Shelby is not pleased. Although Mike broke up with Shelby before he left for college, Shelby never took their break up seriously. She continued making plans for her and Mike. Shelby finds it unbearable to see Mike in love with Elizabeth. When Elizabeth is stranded on a road, she is hit by a car and left for dead on a cold winter night. Shelby comes to rescue, or does she?
You’ll just have to watch. I liked the story. It is well written, except for the fight scenes. I mean, Billy the cop (Michael Landes) took way too long to pull his gun – oh, wait, he never pulled his gun! Shelby had enough time to walk over, take it from him and …. Come on, like this would ever happen! Other than that, the cast did really well. The small town feel was there for me and I really liked the pace, it also had some good suspense. Will Elizabeth ever make it out. If only she checked her pockets, right? Oy! Let me know how you like the film – click the litterbox on right!
